In addition to providing analytical support for strategic projects around the campus that lead to key decisions informed by a clear understanding of the issues, options and supporting high impact analysis, the Financial Planning & Capital Budgeting Department is responsible for the following:

Financial Planning & Analysis – Providing accurate, timely, high quality financial analysis and advice to decision-makers at Lafayette for the purpose of long-range planning.

Financing – Securing sources of funding through financing such as notes and bonds.

Capital Management – Assessing and managing the impact of capital spending on the operating budget.

Risk Management & Insurance – Addressing the College’s risk and non-benefit insurance needs through:

  1. Working with the College departments to manage risk
  2. Supervising the College’s property and liability insurance program
  3. Processing property & liability insurance claims

Endowment Accounting – Processing accounting for the College’s Endowment assets and fund unionization and earnings distributions.

Real Estate – Coordinating purchases of real estate.

Trustee Committee Support – Creating dockets for and supporting the needs of the Committees on Audit, Grounds & Buildings, and Financial Policy of the College’s Board of Trustees.
