Lafayette Dining Services provides an exciting and innovative dining services program for the entire campus community.  We are committed to offering great food, comfortable facilities, a wide variety of venues and menus, and meal plans that provide value. Lafayette’s campus has seven unique dining facilities across campus, serving food somewhere continuously from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. most days.  We offer several different meal plan options—something to meet every student’s needs.

Developing Community: The communal dining experience is fundamental to the development of interpersonal relationships and the overall sense of community at Lafayette College. This is why participation in the meal plans is required of first-year students and new transfers and is recommended for everyone.

Fresh, Nutritious and Delicious Food: The College invests significant resources to ensure our food is of the highest quality by focusing on the caliber of the chefs and the ingredients we use. We cook from scratch using fresh products, obtaining as many as we can from local producers using responsible techniques.

Convenience:  We have seven dining locations across campus: two expansive, all-you-care-to-eat Student Restaurants; one multi-concept Retail Food Court; three cafés with à la carte menus; and one dining room that can be used for special group functions. Campuses of Lafayette’s size typically may have only one dining venue, but our multiple locations mean students can find food on campus 7 a.m. until 2 a.m. most days of the week—no need to drive or walk anywhere off campus to search for food.

Variety and Education: A wide range of menu items offered at each meal ensures something for everyone, and our talented chefs change the menu items regularly. Additionally, special theme events in the dining halls highlight holidays and cuisines that allow students to experiment with foods they may never have eaten before—a great educational opportunity in diversity and global awareness.

Cost-effectiveness and Flexibility: We offer a variety of dining options to ensure you can customize a dining plan that satisfies your particular wants and allows your family to feel confident you’ve been well provided for.

Environmental Responsibility: Each year, we increase our efforts to change the products and processes we use in Dining Services to be more environmentally responsible and promote sustainability. We have introduced biodegradable plates, cups, and utensils. We also purchase local dairy, meats, and produce in season, and we compost much of the food waste on campus.
